Observer Review for PlayStation 4

Image
I remember as a teenager an actor that stood out for me and a movie, that movie was Wanted Dead Or Alive staring Rutger Hauer. I was made up to learn that he would be playing the main character in the new horror game from Bloober Team. You play as Daniel an investigator, receiving a call from his son asking for help which leads him to an apartment block that gets locked down as soon as he has entered, cutting it off from the outside world. The block is full of mad, strange tenants that remain locked behind doors where interacting with them comes through a game of door knocking to try to solve riddles and find out what has happened to your son.  The game soon gets very bloody and anyone with the faintest admiration for jump scare games or who are in any way won over by mad trippy mind bending soul searching are in for a treat. Observer starts off slow but intriguing. You visit your sons apartment to find a 'mess', to search through this to gather clues you have a scan...

Sudden Strike 4 Road to Dunkirk Review

Image
Action from Dunkirk on PlayStation 4 Pro Everyone knows the history of the evacuation of Dunkirk, if not then Google it to read all about how the ordinary man and woman raised the bar and took to the see in a daring mission, unarmed and under fire, crossed the English channel to rescue the stranded British troops in France with the brave French fighting off the German advance. Now reenact that in the excellent Sudden Strike 4 DLC pack Road To Dunkirk. We gave Sudden Strike 4 9/10 in our review . After playing more and now playing the add-on I stand buy that score. SS4 grows on you. It's challenging gameplay pushes you to think of how you'd plan things in real life situations. Go it all guns and it will end with all your units in tatters. The two allied missions have you standing up to the overpowering German advance. You now have 10 new units at your disposal but what steals the show is the navel strike you can now call in. I sat on my sofa as shells whizzed overhead ...

theHunter:Call of the wild PlayStation 4 review

Image
Developer: Avalanche Studios . Playing the Hunter Call of the wild has taught me many things over the weekend. The main thing is that I have no problems whatsoever mowing down humans one after another, in a game world of course but the guilt I felt after shooting a rabbit while it was playing with others left me repeating, "It's only a game, It's only a game" as I looked down at the said bunny! I'm not a hunter but I've been curious about these games from the PlayStation 2 days. Sure you can get them easily now with multi region and access to the other stores but they are mainly sold over the water. I'd seen the screens and previews before but you can easily be fooled by pre-launch hype shots and tarted up movies. When I first spawned into the game world I completely missed what the narrator was saying to me and I had to start again. You see I was distracted by what was before me. This distraction has not stopped hours and hours into the game. The...

Hellblade dev marked World Mental Health Day by donating game sales to charity

Image
This is old but something that needs to mentioned again. Developer Ninja Theory marked World Mental Health Day by donating all proceeds from today's sales of the game (October 10th) to mental health charity, Rethink. Rethink is a UK organization that supports and campaigns for those severely affected by mental health issues. The group wants to help those affected by the invisible illness by challenging and changing attitudes. Hellblade's protagonist Senua, suffers from psychosis, and both critics and fans have praised the way the game delicately and intelligently represents the condition. Ninja Theory has put together a new game trailer for the occassion, but instead of featuring buzzwords and marketing jargon, this one spotlights messages sent in by Hellblade players keen to share their own mental health experiences. Donations will only be taken (after sales tax and platform fees) from PS4 and PC purchases made on October 10, so if you've been waiting for a goo...
