62,543 PS Vita's sold in huge weekly sales spike in Japan.

That's up from 11,456 last week. Great news for Sony We reported a few days ago that Sony expected around 40,000 Vitas had sold, we said more, we were right. All it needs is a price drop but we have some high profile games to boot. Soul Sacrifice hits this week so I would think sales will be even more next week. PSP has sold more than the struggling Wii U. 3DS is still top but Vita could past it next week. UK Store Update this week is essential

The EU Playstation blog has updated with this weeks store news and it's a cracker for plus. Tomb Raider is the main PS3 game while on Vita it's Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. MLB 13 The Show for both PS3 and PS Vita are out this week. Germinator for PS Vita, and PS2 titles Midnight Club and Midnight Club 2 also hit the store. Playstation and PSN win big at game awards.

Journey has netted no less than 5 awards, a PlayStation title lacking words and enemies. These included Online Multiplayer, Artistic Achievement, Game Design, Original Music and Audio Achievement. It was created by Thatgamecompany - a seven-year-old studio founded by graduates from the University of Southern California. It involves travelling across a huge desert landscape and communicating with other players - connected via the Internet - by making wordless musical chirps   The Unfinished Swan was the other winner taking two prizes - Debut Game and Innovation. To play it gamers explore an unfinished world which initially has its details revealed by splattering ink blots from a magic paintbrush.   The Room took the British Game Award. Kind of a Big Deal - the developer of Starcrossed - took the Ones To Watch award. The Walking Dead - a spin-off from the zombie-themed television series - won two prizes: Story and Mobile & Handheld.
