PlayStation Online

Square Enix were on the show floor showing off the excellent looking Murdered Soul Suspect on PS4. Rory from Square confirmed that the game will be running at 1080p. The game looks excellent with a great idea for a story. We will be following this game very closely with new media coming  soon after Rezzed has finished.

Don't underestimate the power of Playstation. This years Rezzed has shown how far ahead of the competition Sony has stridden. Yes many Indies were on the show floor but this is a good thing, a very healthy thing for us gamers and the smaller developers. Sony set out to pull developers in and have done this in a big way. At Eurogamer last year we saw many, at Rezzed we have seen many more and what is very obvious is how far on these excellent looking games are. Two games really stood out for me. The first was a side scrolling game that was based heavily on using the old grey matter. The Swapper is what it says on the tin, you swap your position with another to activate switches, get to higher places etc. The art style was beautiful with nice lightning effects. Next was a game that had a kind of Borderlands look to it. Helldivers is a top down shooter that is obviously a homage to starship troopers in the level on show. Update:Sega have confirmed that the game will hit retail on October 7th 2014. Alien Isolation.......no no wait, this is a great looking Alien game. No really. Anyone that loves the movies knows that what makes them great is the atmosphere. Not hoards of dumb aliens running at you from here there and everywhere. I don't want to do the oldest trick in the book and say this but I have to, its like Outlast in a very nostalgic alien world. You even play as Ripley's daughter. I wont spoil anything but fans of the movies will be made up with the nods towards the silver screen versions. I looked at all versions of the game on show behind closed doors and even though the PC version was running on smaller screens it was the PS4 version on 40" screens that looked the best. The developers confirmed that the PS4 version ran at 1080p. I jumped three times during the demo and was left wanting more. This has gone from interested to must have. Don't turn out the lights

On the show floor was the excellent looking War Thunder with Tanks being shown off for the PC version. Without wasting any time I asked the team when we can expect tanks in the Playstation 4 version. "Tanks will launch in one months time on PC and we hope for a month later on PS4". It's  unclear if he meant a closed beta or open beta. Either way its exciting news for World War two fans. We'll update as soon as we get more info.
